Questions, answered
The policies and the practical details, in one place, so the rest of the site does not have to carry them.
Is there a minimum stay?
Two nights is the minimum. Longer is easy; shorter we cannot do, and the availability form will hold you to it.
What are check-in and checkout?
Check-in from 4pm, checkout by 10am. Check-in is a smart lock, so you let yourselves in on your own schedule — no meeting anyone at a set time.
How many guests can stay?
Eight, and every guest counts toward that total. It matches the Airbnb listing and the city registration.
How is booking direct different from Airbnb or VRBO?
Ten percent off the nightly rate and no guest service fee when you book straight with us, against the platforms' standard rate plus their fee. Same house; the price is the part that changes.
Do you take long stays?
Yes. Stays over 28 nights are quoted directly — write to us with your dates and we will send a monthly rate.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are set on the booking and shown before you confirm; for a direct booking we send them with your quote. If your dates are uncertain, ask before you book and we will tell you exactly where you stand.
How are the beds arranged?
Three king bedrooms, plus a twin and trundle in the movie lounge downstairs. That is how the house sleeps eight.
How many bathrooms, and how are they split?
Two. The primary is ensuite; bedrooms two and three share the second bath; the movie lounge has none — a flight of stairs at night.
Where exactly is the house?
In Laurel Canyon, up in the Hollywood Hills, minutes from West Hollywood and the studios. We keep the exact address private until a booking is confirmed, then send it with your check-in details. The stay page shows the approximate area on a map. See the approximate location.
Is there parking?
Two off-street spots: a garage and a driveway, both a few steps from the door.
Wifi, and somewhere to work?
1-gig wifi throughout, and two proper work stations for anyone who has to log on during the stay.
Heating and cooling?
Air conditioning and heat throughout the house.
Is there laundry?
Yes — a washer and dryer for guests to use.
Is there an EV charger or a crib?
Neither. There is no EV charger and no crib.
Are pets allowed?
No pets, sorry.
Can we smoke?
No smoking anywhere, indoors or out. A $500 fee applies if the house comes back smelling of it.
Events or photo and film shoots?
No events, and no photography or filming shoots. The house is for the people staying in it.
Are there quiet hours?
10pm to 8am, out of respect for the canyon and the neighbours close on either side.
Are there cameras?
Exterior cameras at the entrances, for the house's security. None inside.
How do I find things once I'm in?
A guide in the house covers the essentials — the coffee, the climate, the sauna switch. Anything it misses, message us.
What if something breaks, or I need help?
Message us and we handle it. A small team looks after the house and treats hosting as a craft, so you are not left alone with a lockbox.
How do I reach you?
hello@laurelcanyon.house. We reply within 24 hours.
